I chose to mix traditionally European/American tailoring textiles for lining or base fabrics to break up or highlight certain textiles I used. This felt like my way of introducing my personal life into the story of Mexico, as I came from Mexico but became American early in my life.

Very few countries have extreme variations of climate and vegetation as Mexico. Bordered by the USA in the north, Guatemala, and Belize in the south-east. Just like my home where these textiles are from, they show the variety of skills and craftsmanship the people of Mexico have. Each textile I use tells a story of color and bravery that runs through my home.
